For those of you who are using HUMMINGBIRD – Or manually adding a lot of followers on a daily basis -this tip has increased my follow back rate to almost 70%.
What I used to do - I would go to profiles of people in my niche and click on their follower’s link and click the button for hummingbird to follow all – and it would run for an hour or so, clicking away till I reached my limit.
What I’m doing now that has almost doubled the follow back rate – Now instead of letting it run on one persons list, I am stopping it after about 10-20 pages or 200 -400 followers (depending on how active the person is) and going on to the next person in my niche.
Why is this working so much better? It’s simple – If I go to someone with a sizable following – chances are they are gaining 500 or more followers a day. So If I only follow their most recent 200-400 followers – this ensures I’m only following people who are active on twitter or who have been active in the last 24 hrs.
Try it out – you’ll see a big difference.
